It’s easy to get caught up in the moment and suddenly find yourself in a relationship that is destined to fail. Some of us don’t know a red flag when we see one, and others tend to ignore them even when they are blatantly obvious. Check out this list of things to consider before getting in too deep.
1. Their Relationship History
Knowing someone’s relationship history is one of the best sources of information when considering a serious relationship. By doing some digging into a person’s history you can learn what to expect from them down the road. You don’t have to do full-on detective work, but you should make it a point to talk about your partner’s prior relationships at some point before getting in too deep.
Some things you should consider are the number of relationships they have had and how long they have lasted. It is also helpful to know why the relationship ended. If someone has not been in many serious relationships it is wise to figure out if this is because they lack the ability to commit to someone, or if there is another explanation.
