A first date should give you the opportunity to kick back and relax while you get to know someone. First dates are bound to be a little awkward, but don’t make it worse than it has to be, and remember that some activities can be great for couples who have been together for a while, but terrible for a first date.
Check out this list of first date activities to avoid to save yourself the embarrassment of a bad first date.
1. Going to the Movies
Going to the movies is a date idea that we have all seen in films and on television. However, taking your new love interest to the movie theatre on a first date could spell disaster. A first date is about getting to know each other, and a movie theatre is a terrible place to do that. Movie theatres are dark and talking during a movie is frowned upon, so not only will you be unable to see your date, you won’t be able to talk to them either.
You also run the risk of one person hating the movie. Those of us already in established relationships struggle to agree on movie choices, and it won’t be any easier when dealing with a stranger.
Do not waste two hours in the dark when you could spend that time getting to know your date.
