4. Candy Cane Cookies

Create a cookie version of Christmas’ most iconic sweet by using two different colored doughs. Roll a one inch piece of each dough into a four inch strip and then twist together into a candy cane shape.

Bake at 375 degrees for six to nine minutes and then sprinkle a mixture of crushed candy canes and granulated sugar on top so it melts into the hot dough. A deliciously festive cookie that pairs well with a glass of milk or hot cocoa.

5. Gingerbread Loaf with Cream Cheese Frosting

Instead of making gingerbread cookies this year try a gingerbread loaf spiced with cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Mix dry and wet ingredients separately and then add dry to wet, mixing until thoroughly blended.

Bake for 45 to 55 minutes at 350 degrees or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. For the frosting, mix butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.

Once blended, smooth over the top of the cooled loaf and store until ready to be devoured!

6. M&M’s Christmas Cookie Bars

Part cookie and part brownie, these M&M’s Christmas cookie bars are perfect for gift-giving or holiday parties. Mix all cookie ingredients in a bowl or stand mixer, adding most of the M&M’s, mini chocolate chips and white chocolate chips at the end.

Transfer the dough to a baking dish and add the remaining pieces for topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes and let cool before cutting into bars.
