Seeing as Alzheimer’s affects the mind first and foremost, it’s important to keep it as stimulated as possible. Reading, brain teasers, crossword puzzles and video games can all help keep the mind active.
Participating in the fine arts, such as theater, music and art is especially beneficial to the brain. When you utilize memorization to recall lines or musical notes, more of the brain is activated and it can actually change the physical composition of the brain.
Really, doing anything challenging that forces you to think and use problem solving can have a long-term effect on memory recall and retaining information.
