4. Topical Silicone Gel

Silicone gel can be recommended for many different type of scars, in many locations on the body. It is a spreadable gel that dries in a matter of minutes, and can last on the skin for up to 24 hours, taking the annoying reapplication off the table.

The gel promotes a moist environment for the wound and can still allow it to breathe. You can start a gel treatment soon after an injury occurs, which can shorten the length of having a scar considerably.

Depending on the location, a topical silicone gel or a silicone gel sheet may be more appropriate. The topical gels are spread on with finger tips and dry quickly and clear; this is a great option for facial injuries or injuries that are large or jagged.
