Influenza, better known as the flu, is commonly found in the gym locker room. The flu virus can actually survive on surfaces for 2 – 8 hours. Being in close proximity to people, and in contained areas like the locker room, allows the flu virus to spread quickly. The virus can last 4-7 days and includes symptoms such as, fever, body aches, coughing, sneezing, chills, dizziness, headache, lack of energy and even nausea. Basically you feel like crap.
