3. Athlete’s Foot
Athlete’s foot is a common fungal infection most people get from walking barefoot in the locker room. Fungal infections thrive in warm, wet places which is why fungal skin infections are one of the more common afflictions among gym members. Athlete’s foot is characterized by cracked, itching, and inflamed skin on the soles of the feet and between the toes. Keep feet clean and dry and make sure to always wear shoes or flip-flops when walking around locker room areas to minimize the chances of catching this fungal infection.
